VFW Baseball: Willmar goes 1-1 on 1st day at tournament in Watertown

WATERTOWN, S.D. -- The Willmar VFW baseball team went 1-1 during the first day of the Watertown, S.D., Tournament Friday.

Willmar upended Brandon, S.D., 14-3 in its opener after 12 batters visited the plate in the fifth inning to produce 10 runs. Willmar then fell 11-8 to West Fargo. Trey Tollefson slugged a three-run homer in the third for Willmar, but West Fargo owned an 8-2 lead before Willmar batted in the third.

Willmar plays today at 12:15 p.m. and concludes its trip with a game on Sunday.
