VFW baseball: Willmar II falls to Montevideo
WILLMAR -- A slow start was too much for Willmar II to overcome as Montevideo collected a 12-5 win Friday in a VFW baseball game.
Montevideo plated three runs in the first inning before scoring a run in both the second and third.
Willmar produced four runs in the fourth to get within one, but Montevideo then tacked on seven more runs over the fifth, sixth and seventh to keep Willmar winless.
Isaac Kobienia, Mike Keith, Adam Herman and Nate Ackerman all reached to start out the fourth and eventually scored. Noah Vreeman later produced a run-scoring double in the frame.
Willmar is at the Hutchinson Invite today and Sunday.
