BENSON -- Victor Earl Wordelman, 91, of Benson, died Friday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson. Memorials are prefered to Fairview Foundation Hospice and Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
He was born July 23, 1917, in Hanska to Carl Johnson and Edna Wordelman. He grew up in St. James, graduating from high school in 1935 and attended college at Gustavus Adolphus from 1935 to 1936.
He married Muriel Syverson on June 21, 1938, in Ormsby. He worked in St. James at the Purity Dairy and later owned the KK Restaurant. They moved to Benson where he became self employed in the dairy business at Hi Quality Dairy and later became a Marigold Foods distributor. He was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church and served as president and sang in the choir. He was active in the Benson Golf Club and served on the Benson Housing Authority. He served as president of the Jaycees, was a member of Toastmasters, the Chamber of Commerce, the Swift Lodge Masons and the Zuhrah Shriners.
He is survived by his wife of Sauk Rapids; children: Todd (and Stephanie) Wordelman of Maple Grove, Vicky (and Paul) Schaefer of Sartell, and Scott (and Donna) Wordelman of Red Wing; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Vernon (and Evelyn) Johnson of St. James, Kermit (and Dona) Johnson of St. James and Lorraine Hoff of Clear Lake.
