In the Super Bowl hype before the big game, CBS broadcast a special Friday night on the Greatest Super Bowl Commercial of the past 44 years. The CBS special listed its Top 10 greatest Super Bowl commercials and sought viewer input to decide the #1 all-time title for this year.
The Top 10 ads featured on the CBS special were:

- 7. Bridgestone "Whale of a Tail" 2010
- 8. Snickers: "Game" (the Betty White version) 2010
- 9. Doritos "Underdog" 2010
- 10. FedEx "Carrier Pigeon" 2008
