Vila J. Milan Jan. 19, 1931 - March 24, 2009
LITCHFIELD -- Vila Jean Milan, 78, of Litchfield, died Tuesday at Emmanuel Home in Litchfield.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Litchfield Christian Church. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, Litchfield.
She was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Kimball to Everett and Pearl (Houghton) Hilary. She grew up in Kimball and graduated in 1948. She attended Minnesota Bible College for two years.
She married Calvin Milan on June 26, 1950, in Kimball. They moved to Chippewa Falls in 1950 and, a year later, moved to Clarion, Iowa. In 1970, they moved to O'Neill, Neb., and, in 1974, moved to Litchfield. She began teaching piano in high school. She was the organist and pianist at the Litchfield Christian Church and the United Methodist Church. She also accompanied the Litchfield Area Male Chorus and South Fork Singers and played during Watercade services and at senior dining. She was a member of the Litchfield Christian Church and the Christian Women's Club.
She is survived by her children: Jan (and Dave) Pease and Jim Milan, all of Litchfield; one granddaughter and one brother: Harland (and Ruth) Hilary of St. Michael.
She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant grandson.
