Violet D. Jensen Dec. 20, 1922 - Dec. 24, 2008
PENNOCK -- Violet D. Jensen, 86, of Kerkhoven died Wednesday at Rice Care Center in Willmar.
The service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Salem Covenant Church, rural Pennock. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Harvey Anderson Kerkhoven Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church.
She was born Dec. 20, 1922, in Congress, Saskatchewan, to Arthur and Cora (Carlson) Nordstrom. When she was about a year old, the family moved to St. Paul. When she was 8, the family moved to a farm north of Pennock. She attended District 15 North School. After her schooling, she stayed home and helped her parents on the farm.
She married Walter Jensen on July 12, 1947. They lived in Benson until 1952 when they moved into Kerkhoven. In Kerkhoven, she was a member of home extension and Kerkhoven Senior Citizens.
She was a member of Salem Covenant Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, deaconess and was a member of Covenant Women and Salem Covenant Seniors.
She is survived by her children: Arlan (and Diane) Jensen of Grand Rapids and Shirley Jensen of Minneapolis; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother: Eldon (and Ruth) Nordstrom of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996 and one brother.
