Violet E. Brown Jan. 21, 1931 - July 31, 2009
LITCHFIELD -- Violet Elsie Brown, 78, of Litchfield, died Friday at Dassel Lakeside Care Center.
The service will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Burial will be at Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home of Litchfield.
She was born Jan. 21, 1931, in New Ulm to John and Adina (Abraham) Wittenberg.
On May 8, 1947, she married Orville Brown in Gibbon. They moved to Buffalo Lake. In 1952, they moved to Granite Falls, and then to Onamia in 1962. They lived in Clarkfield from 1963 to 1970 and in St. Cloud from 1970 to 1977. In 1977, they moved to Litchfield. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a member of the Litchfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters: Patricia (and the Rev. John) Temple of St. Charles, Mo., and Eileen (and Ron) Manning of Coon Rapids; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers: Walter (and June) Wittenberg of Litchfield, Edwin (and Verda) Wittenberg of Glencoe, Edward Wittenberg of Buffalo and Rudolph (and Ellie) Wittenberg of Pine River; and special friend: Woody Anderberg of Litchfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and four brothers.
