Virginia Rud May 16, 1919 - March 4, 2009
PAYNESVILLE -- Virginia Rud, 89, of Paynesville, died Wednesday at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville.
The services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church in Paynesville. Burial will be in the Paynesville Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Gideons International.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born May 16, 1919, in Paynesville to Benjamin and Florence (Schultz) Schroeder.
She married Philip Rud on May 28, 1938, in Paynesville. They farmed together until 1946 and, in 1952, they bought Phil's T.V. in Paynesville and operated it until 1977 when they retired. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Gideon Auxiliary. She volunteered in Paynesville, most notably at the Good Samaritan Home where she served on the board.
She is survived by her husband; sons: Steve (and Bridget) Rud of Wahkon and Dan (and MeiMei) Rud of Mission, Texas; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Dorothy King of St. Paul and Audrey Lang of Baxter.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
