Vision loss topic of film showing Tuesday in Montevideo, Minn.

MONTEVIDEO -- A screening of the film "Going Blind: Coming Out of the Dark About Vision Loss" will be conducted from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Montevideo VA Clinic, 1025 North 13th Street in Montevideo.

The event is free and open to the public.

According to a news release from the St. Cloud VA, the film tells the stories of several individuals, including the filmmaker and an Iraq War veteran, who have lost or are losing their vision.

Veterans and community members are invited to attend and learn more about vision issues caused by macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and other conditions.

The event includes opportunities to learn more about and access community resources supporting people suffering vision loss.

Vision screening and blood pressure checks are available for all attendees. Veterans receiving VA health care may also obtain a flu shot. Veterans who are not enrolled for VA health care may learn about eligibility for VA health care and how to apply during the event. Light refreshments will be served.
