Vivian E. Jacobson Oct. 4, 1921 - Dec. 23, 2008

PAYNESVILLE -- Vivian E. Jacobson, 87, of Paynesville died Tuesday at Koronis Manor in Paynesville.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nordland Lutheran Church in rural Paynesville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville and one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born Oct. 4, 1921, in Dovre Township, Kandiyohi County, to Albin and Nellie (Olson) Bjork. She was raised in rural Willmar where she attended District 76 Country School.

On Sept. 18, 1943, she married Donald Jacobson in Willmar. They farmed near Paynesville. In the early 1950s, they moved into Paynesville. She ran a day care for many years. She was a member of Nordland Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the NLCW and the church choir. She was also volunteered at the area center and scheduling hair care for Koronis Manor.

She is survived by her children: Valynn (and Dwayne) Putzke, of Winthrop, Wash., Faye (and John) Hartert of Paynesville, Carol Bras of North Pole, Ark., Ruth Almos of Clearwater, Fla., Janice (and Larry) Mathison of Paynesville and Dave (and Barb) Jacobson of Paynesville; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ione Rennecker of Kula, Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, three brothers and seven sisters.
