GRANITE FALLS -- Yellow Medicine East dropped the first game, but regrouped to sink Benson 23-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-16 in West Central South Conference volleyball Thursday.

"We started kind of rough in game one, but came back to nearly win at the end," said Sting head coach Kirsten Tjosaas. "We refocused and after that played very solid volleyball. It was a good win at home."

Jamie Baker had 12 kills, Stina Lieseth eight, Livi Jeseritz seven and Macy McKay and Anne Jepson six apiece. McKay also had five ace serves and 17 digs.

For Benson, Courtney Frank and Holly Erickson had eight kills each.

YME stayed in the conference lead at 9-0, one match ahead of Montevideo and three ahead of Benson.

Sara Beyer had 12 kills and Breenna Harris followed with nine to help lead Morris to its third conference win. The Tigers also got 30 assists and 25 digs from Kaley Taffe.

Minnewaska was led by Amie Chan's eight kills, Shannon Bosek's four ace blocks and Rachel Gandrud's three ace serves.

The Thunder Hawks (8-1, 16-1-1) kept pace in the conference with the help of Taylor Skoglund's 11 kills and seven ace blocks. Skoglund misfired on only one attack in 13 attempts. Brooke Tastad added nine kills and was one of three players for Montevideo that had three ace blocks (Amanda Boike and Beka Schwendemann).

ACGC was paced by Bethany Nelson's nine kills.
