Voting is steady in rural Kandiyohi County

People were waiting in line to vote at 6:45 Tuesday morning at the Lake Andrew Town Hall in northern Kandiyohi County. About 25 people had crowded into the small white Town Hall to wait for the 7 a.m. start of the 2008 general election balloting.

In the first 45 minutes of voting, nearly 80 people had cast ballots.

By contrast, in the primary election in September, a total of 92 people voted in Lake Andrew Township.

A steady stream of voters was coming in to vote. Extra polling booths that were set up in the former one-room schoolhouse helped get voters in and out quickly.
