Harold W. Skov, 45, and Douglas A. Amundson, 62, both of Sebeka, were pronounced dead at the scene by rescue workers after a load of hay bales fell on them, Wadena County Sheriff Michael D. Carr said.

"These two men's lives will be sadly missed by their families, friends and this small community," Carr said. "This is one of the most tragic accidents [I have] ever seen in [my] career. My thoughts and prayers go out to both these families."

The accident happened shortly after 5 p.m. on a lot to the north of 29506 237th Ave. in Orton Township.
