A total of 493 donations have been received during the 2011 campaign. To date, donations total just $33,357. Shopping has been completed with upward of 450 children being served through the program this year.

Last year, the Warm the Children campaign took in $40,012, exceeding a goal of $39,000. The donations received helped to clothe 453 children throughout the area. Now in its 18th year, the Warm the Children campaign has helped some 6,424 children from an estimated 2,361 families over the past 17 years.

All donations, 100 percent, go to help the children. The program is administered through the West Central Tribune, in partnership with Main Street Willmar, with assistance from area social service agencies and schools making referrals. The families are then taken shopping in order to purchase warm winter clothing for the children. Each child is allowed an estimated $80 in purchases.

In addition to the anonymous donations, recent contributions have been received from:

Atwater: Herm & Cheryl Dybevik

Lake Lillian: Jim & Janice Wittman
