Warren H. Hebrink Oct. 2, 1921 - Jan. 8, 2013
CLARA CITY - Warren H. Hebrink, age 91 of Clara City died on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Clara City Care Center. Funeral service will be 1:30pm on Saturday, January 12th at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. Visitation will be Friday, January 11th from 5-7pm at Bethany Reformed Church and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Clara City.
Warren Herbert Hebrink was born on October 2, 1921 in Prinsburg, Minnesota, the son of Herbert and Aukie (DeVries) Hebrink. He grew up in the Prinsburg and Raymond areas and graduated from Raymond High School in the class of 1939. Warren entered the United States Army in September of 1944 stationed in the Pacific Theater, Japan and Iwo Jima. He received an Honorable Discharge in October of 1946.
Warren returned to Clara City where he was united in marriage to Sylvia Reiter on May 21, 1948 at Bethany Reformed Church. The couple lived in Clara City, where Warren worked for Variety Supply Company for 37 years. After retiring from VSC, Warren worked part-time for Cenex and at the beet piling site southwest of Clara City during fall harvest.
He was a member of Bethany Reformed Church and Clara City American Legion Post # 485.
Warren loved the outdoors and looked forward to every fishing opener. Approaching retirement, they bought a lake cabin on Lake Florida where they spent much of their free time enjoying the lake, hosting picnics, reunions and fish frys.
Warren is survived by his wife Sylvia of Clara City, Children: Larry (Linda) Hebrink of Cleveland, Ohio; Robert (Nancy) Hebrink of Minneapolis; Lori Hebrink of Willmar; daughter-in-law Deanne Hodek of St. Cloud; grandchildren: Leah (Josh) Weitzman, Kimberly (Mike) McQueary, Andrea Hebrink, Jacob Hebrink, Travis Hebrink; 4 great-grandchildren: Delaney Weitzman; Daniel, Zachary, and Charlotte McQueary; sister: Helen (Vernon) Fritz of Willmar, brother: Wes (Bev) Kampstra of Fergus Falls and sister-in-law Shirley Kamstra of Beardsley and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
Warren was preceded in death by his mother: Aukie, father: Herbert and step-father: George Kamstra; son: Charles Warren Hebrink; and brother: Alvin Kamstra.
