Warriors succumb to OT blitz

GRAND RAPIDS -- The Warriors lost in overtime 82-71 to Mesabi Range on Sunday to end their pre-division schedule with a 5-7 record.

Ridgewater College, which will host Central Lakes on Wednesday to open the MCAC Southern Division campaign, was outpointed 16-5 in the extra period. Regulation had ended 66-66 after the Warriors held a slim 34-32 lead at intermission.

The Warriors hit 1 of 6 shots in overtime while the Norsemen were 5 of 9 from the field ( 2 of 4 on 3-pointers) and 4 of 6 at the line.

Tyler Pendleton sank 3 of the Willmar school's 9 three-pointers and finished with a team-high 17 points. Neil Helgeson also reached double figures with 14 points. Cody Warner, Zak Pendleton and Jamie Boonstra finished with 8 points apiece.

Markees Walker led five Norsemen in double figures with 18 points. Mesabi improved to 6-6.
