COON RAPIDS -- Ridgewater pitchers threw two complete games against Anoka-Ramsey, but ended with a split of an MCAC Southern Division doubleheader Friday.

Matt Christensen went the distance in the first game for the Warriors, but the offense didn't follow his lead enough, ending with a 5-4 loss. Justin Schroeder went seven innings in the second game and the Warriors plated two runs in the top of the seven to pick up an 8-7 win.

Christensen also led the Warriors at the plate with four hits in five at-bats, three walks and a double.

The Warriors with host MSCTC-Fergus Falls in a doubleheader today at Bill Taunton Stadium at 1 p.m.

Game One

Anoka-Ramsey 5, Ridgewater 4

The Warriors scored single runs in the fourth through sixth innings, but didn't do enough to support Christensen, who allowed five runs on five hits.

"He threw fine. His velocity was fine," said Ridgewater coach Joel Barta. "We left the bases loaded in the sixth and runners at first and second in the seventh. He was giving us a chance to win."

Jacob Wahl's sacrifice fly in the first inning gave the Warriors a short-lived lead. Justin Schroeder singled in a run in the fourth and Adam Luberts hit a two-out single in the fifth to give the Warriors a 4-3 lead.

But the Rams scored twice in the fifth. James Gilbertson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the sixth to plate Ridgewater's fourth run.
