Water line break temporarily closes Willmar's Cashwise, store to reopen this afternoon
WILLMAR -- A water main broke inside Cash Wise store on Monday morning flooding the video-rental section of the grocery store and closing the store temporarily.
The store’s water main was shut off to prevent further flooding.
Willmar’s fire chief closed the store due to water being unavailable for the fire suppression system and Cash Wise employees had to turn patrons away at the doors Monday morning.
“However, a temporary fix to the water problem has been found,” said Rebecca Kurowski, Communications manager at Coborn’s Inc in St. Cloud. “We are awaiting approval from the fire chief and the store should be reopened sometime early Monday afternoon.”
Clean-up crews are at the store with equipment to clean the mess made by the store’s flooding. Since there was no flooding in the grocery sections of the store, food safety and sanitation is not an issue.
Utilities workers are still working to determine what caused the break.
