Weather Service has issued tornado watch for central, southern MN

WILLMAR -- The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 10 p.m. today for southwestern, west central and central Minnesota.

The area includes Worthington, Mankato, St. Cloud, Willmar, Alexandria and Fergus Falls in Minnesota, plus portions of eastern South Dakota and northwestern Iowa.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop late this afternoon and pose a risk of severe thunderstorms, large hail and damaging winds.

Citizens are urged to monitor NOAA radio or tune into local broadcasts for the latest information.
