Weather Service issues hazardous weather outlook, which includes west central Minn.

WILLMAR -- The National Weather Service in Chanhassen this morning issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of central and southern Minnesota, including the counties of Chippewa, Douglas, Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, Pope, Renville, Stearns and Swift and including the cities of Alexandria, Benson, Hutchinson, Montevideo and Willmar.

The Weather Service says areas of light freezing rain, freezing drizzle and snow will continue over parts of central Minnesota. Another area of freezing drizzle and flurries will move across central Minnesota from near Willmar to Glenwood.

The Weather Service urges motorists to use caution this morning.

The weather forecast for Willmar:

Today: A chance of freezing rain. Cloudy, with a high near 29. East wind around 10 mph. chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tonight: A chance of freezing drizzle. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 22. East southeast wind around 10 mph.

Friday: Cloudy, with a high near 31. Breezy, with an east-southeast wind between 10 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Friday Night: Freezing rain and sleet likely. Cloudy, with a low around 26. Breezy, with a east southeast wind between 21 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Saturday: Freezing rain and sleet before noon, then rain or freezing rain. High near 33. Breezy, with an east wind around 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Saturday night: Rain and snow likely, becoming all snow after midnight. Cloudy and breezy, with a low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Sunday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 29. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Sunday night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 16.

Monday: A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 22.
