The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather outlook report that includes Pope, Stearns, Lac qui Parle, Swift, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Yellow Medicine, Renville and Redwood counties.

The Weather Service also issued a severe thunderstorm warning this morning for southern Swift County, central Lac qui Parle County and Chippewa County, which expired at 10:15 a.m.

The Weather Service expects severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening. A warm front will move into southern Minnesota and severe storms with large hail and damaging wind are expected. Tornadoes are also possible this afternoon and evening in a large portion of the southern half of Minnesota.
