Willmar

The 2009 Holidaze celebration is set for 3 p.m. Saturday in downtown Willmar; coffee, cookies and hot cocoa with Santa, Rudolph and the elves at The Barn Theatre; cookie decorating for the kids; live animals, vendors, fire pits and more along Becker Avenue; chili supper 4 to 6 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, with live music by Terry Shaw starting at 3:50 p.m.; 5 p.m. lighting of the luminaries decorated by school children at Selvig Park, Chief Kandiyohi and the county building; tree lighting ceremony and sing-along at 6 p.m. in Selvig Park; Holidaze parade at 6:30 p.m. with a route from WEAC down Fourth Street to Litchfield Avenue and on Fifth Street back to WEAC; "Holy Bells," 7:30 p.m., The Barn Theatre; and Holidazed ... the After Party, 7:30 p.m., 414 Becker Ave. S.W., with live music and the announcement of the prize winners.

Prairie Woods ELC

Sibley State Park

Interpretive Center open during the week; call 320-354-2002 for hours.

Sibley State park programs are on the weekends at the Interpretive Center and are led by the park naturalist or visiting expert. A vehicle permit is required to enter the park and they are available at the park office. For more information call 320-354-2002.

Physical activities

Willmar Civic Center

Skating and curling will be either in the Civic Center or the Blue Line Arena; $2 for all ages; $1.50 skate rental, unless otherwise stated.

Open skating: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday

Leisure time hockey, adults only: 7:45 to 9:15 p.m. Sunday.

Youth open hockey, grades 4 through 9: times will vary on Monday evenings.

Open curling, age 8 and older: 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday; stones and brooms provided.

Grind Central Skate Park

Open during daylight hours, Washington Learning Center; 325 Willmar Ave. S.W., Willmar.

Events must be open to the public. The deadline is 3 p.m. Tuesday.
