West Central Minn. wind advisory starts at 11 a.m., gusts to 45 mph today
WILLMAR -- The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today for west central and southwestern Minnesota.
The area includes locations along and south of a line from Morris to Willmar to Owatonna.
A cold front will move across the region, with strong west winds developing in the wake of the front later this morning. Wind speeds of 30 to 35 mph are expected, with gusts reaching 45 mph.
The winds will begin to die down after sunset, but it will remain breezy through tonight.
The weather service is calling for a high near 43 today in Willmar. Locally, winds are expected to reach 25 to 28 mph with gusts as high as 39 mph.
Temperatures will dip to 19 tonight with blustery winds decreasing to 10 to 13 mph.
Tomorrow's high temperature will be about 35 degrees, with mostly sunny skies and winds between 18 to 21 mph and gusts to 29 mph.
