West Central Minnesota in Red Flag Warning from 1 to 7 p.m., fire potential is high

WILLMAR -- A red flag warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for 1 to 7 p.m. this afternoon for an area from Benson to Willmar and south to Luverne, Worthington and Fairmont.

The weather service expects humidity levels to drop into the teens and winds to be sustained at 20 to 25 mph. These weather conditions, combined with dry fuel, will lead to critical fire weather conditions.

Area counties in the warning include Kandiyohi, Swift, Chippewa, Renville, Lac qui Parle and Yellow Medicine.
