Wet roads this morning in Willmar area but good driving conditions
WILLMAR - Willmar area drivers are encountering wet roads and some fog but mostly good driving conditions this morning.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation reports only some icy patches in west central Minnesota, while the St. Cloud vicinity is reported to have black ice and fair driving conditions. MnDOT rates the conditions difficult in the northern half of the state.
The National Weather Service says this morning's freezing rain is mainly north of Interstate 94 in Minnesota, and will change over to all rain by noon.
The forecast for the Willmar area calls for rain, possibly with thunderstorms, after 3 p.m. today. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch are expected, with larger amounts possible in thunderstorms. The forecast high is 42.
Tonight the rain will continue before changing over to a mix of rain and snow after 3 a.m. The low will be near 33. Little accumulation is expected.
The chance for rain and snow continues Tuesday, with a high of 36.
