MONTEVIDEO - Wilbur "Stub" Belshaw age 92 of Montevideo passed away Tuesday morning at the V.A. Hospital in St. Cloud.Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday at Calvary Baptist Church in Montevideo. Burial will be at the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.Arrangements are with the Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Montevideo.

Wilbur Mason Belshaw was born June 26, 1920 on the family farm in Underwood Township, MN. His parents were Herbert L. and Edna (Chrisman) Belshaw. After graduating from Milroy High School, he farmed until shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor when he enlisted in the Air Force in January 1942 and moved to Shepherd Field in Texas. He was also stationed at Lawry Field in Colorado, and at Herrinton Field in Kansas.

On September 27, 1942 in Wichita Falls, TX, he was united in marriage to June A. Johnson of Marshall, MN, and they lived wherever he was stationed until he went overseas to the Pacific Theater where he engaged in many bombing missions over Japan. In 1946, after the war, he returned to Minnesota and they lived on the family farm near Vesta a short while before moving to other farms in Redwood and Chippewa counties until 1970 when they sold their farm near Montevideo and purchased a farm near Littlefork, where they lived until June died in 1993. After he and Erma Hokins were married at Pastor Wesley Thompson's home in Minneapolis, they made their home in Montevideo. From their home across from Larson Park, he enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds and park activities. He died January 1, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Cloud.

Stub is survived by his wife Erma; daughter Linda Lou Morgan; grandchildren Jeffrey Kee Morgan (Katrina), Scott Thomas Morgan, Jennifer June Helen Morgan (Brent Francisco), Steven Lewis Morgan, Jessica Mae Morgan; great grandchildren Qianna Morgan, Keyshawn Morgan, Benjamin Francisco; step-children Judy Abner and Jon (Cindy) Hokins; step-grandchildren Jennifer (& Shawn) Mead, James Abner, JR, Jason Abner, Sheila Hokins, Nathan Hokins and Nicole (Mark) Hilt ; sister Erma Belshaw Hengel; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, June Johnson Belshaw; son Byron Mason Belshaw in 1949; son-in-law Lewis Morgan; brothers Oscar Frank Belshaw and Lewis Ward Belshaw; sisters Velma Lucile Chester and Lois Captola Wilson, step-son-in-law Jim Abner.
