Wilbur M. 'Scotty' Bunker

ST. CLOUD -- Dr. Wilbur M. "Scotty" Bunker, 86, of St. Cloud, formerly of Bird Island, died Friday in Sun City, Ariz.
The service will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Burial will be at a later date in St. Catherine's Parish Cemetery in Redwood Falls.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Arrangements are by Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Memorials are preferred to the Coborn's Cancer Center in St. Cloud.
He was born Feb. 4, 1923, in Olivia to Ellsworth Scott and Mabel (Welch) Bunker. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, including participation in the invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944.
He married Audrey Pistulka in 1948. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and practiced in Bird Island until 1979. He worked for the state of Minnesota in dentistry until he retired in 1988. Audrey died in 1999.
He married Marilyn Boike in December of 2000 in St. Cloud.
He had served two terms as mayor of Bird Island. He was member of St. Peter's Parish, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 428, life member of Clearwater American Legion Post 323 and St. Cloud Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622.
He is survived by his wife; children: Mary (and Greg) McCarney of Hudson, Wis., Sue Bunker of Eagan and Jane (and Brad) Manderschied of Starbuck; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers: Roger (and Kay) Bunker of Minneapolis and Bob (and Edna) Bunker of Bird Island; and sisters: Virginia Brandt of Olivia and Mamie Berry of Mitchell, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his first wife.
