Wild sign MN-Duluth star forward Fontaine
The Minnesota Wild signed former Minnesota Duluth forward Justin Fontaine to a two-year, entry-level contract Tuesday.
The 23-year-old Fontaine helped lead the Bulldogs to their first NCAA championship, a trophy they secured on the Wild's home ice with a win over Michigan on April 9 at Xcel Energy Center. Fontaine had 22 goals and 36 assists in 42 games as a senior.
The Canada native had 164 points in 159 career games with UMD.
