NEW LONDON -- Jayme Moten's hot hand in the second half ignited New London-Spicer as the Wildcats clipped Albany 84-78 Thursday in a battle of the West Central North Conference leaders in boys basketball.

NLS remained unbeaten in the conference, improving to 12-0, upped its winning streak to 13 and beat the Huskies for the second time this season. The Wildcats (21-1) have four games left on their conference slate and are two games up on Albany (12-2, 18-2) in the loss column.

After Zach Noreen, who had a game-high 25 points, gave Albany a 63-58 lead on a fast-break dunk, Moten had a hand in nine of NLS' last 10 baskets to push the Wildcats ahead for good.

Moten made four baskets, including a three-pointer that broke a 66-66 tie, and handed out five assists down the stretch. He finished with 17 points.

Justin Zylstra scored a team-high 22 points for NLS with Aaron Johnson also netting 17 points and Aaron Jenny added 12 more. Johnson also grabbed 12 rebounds to help NLS double up Albany in rebounding, 34-17.

B.J. Bueckers added 19 points and Kyle Lieser pumped in another 11 for the Huskies, whose only two losses have come to NLS.
