Wilfred Hauck Feb. 6, 1932 - July 16, 2013

WILLMAR - Wilfred Hauck, 81, of Willmar, died Tuesday, July 16th in Minneapolis, returning from a family trip in Alaska. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Church of St. Mary, Willmar. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday, July 19, 2013 at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to Mass at church.

Wilfred Alex Hauck was born Feb.6, 1932 at Beulah, ND, the son of Rose (Braun) Hauck and Fred Hauck. He spent the early years on the farm with 4 sisters, later moving to Beulah where his Dad was the Chief of police and his baby sister was born. He met the love of his life and they were married on November 28, 1951 in Hazen, ND. He was drafted into the Army in 1952 and served during the Korean conflict. He was stationed in Germany working with the communications system. While there his first daughter was born. On his return he worked for the Hi-way department in North Dakota when their son was born. They moved to Wahpeton, ND where he earned his plumbers license and moved to Willmar, MN working with Lundquist Plumbing and Heating. After moving to Willmar, they had their third child, Brenda. He continued his education and earned his Mechanical Contractors license and worked for a few companies before settling with Holm Brothers of Atwater. He was a foremen for many jobs building schools, hospitals, and the like.

Because of his many years on the road for work he had a love of traveling, and with Cecilia they traveled plenty. He also had a great love of music, especially Polka, dancing, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, tinkering in his shop and mostly spending time with his family.

He was a member of Church of St. Mary in Willmar, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, the VFW, and as a Steamfitter with Local 539.

Surviving are his children: Sandra (and Joe) Fernholz of Willmar, Darby Hauck of Jupiter, FL, and Brenda (and Michael) Rzonca of Kirkland, WA; grandchildren: Kerry Jerome (and Mary) Fernholz of Fargo, ND, Jana Lee Lehne of Raymond, MN, Nichiolas (and Jessica) Fernholz of Fargo, ND, Wendy (and Derek) Kolling of Murdock, MN, Colleen (and Nathan) Peterson of Willmar, MN, Brianna (and Ryne Bergstrom) of Fargo, ND, Ashlynn and Derek Hauck of Jupiter, FL; great grandchildren: Charlie Jo Lehne, Jacob Andrew Lehne, Lily Vonne Kolling, Wyatt Christian Peterson, and Sela Sandra Kolling. Also surviving are his sisters Kathleen (and Bloyd Brenneman) and Josephine Ziegler of Bozeman MT, and brother in-law Richard Mettler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia, his parents, Fred and Rose, and siblings: Cleo Mettler, Anna (and Steve) Goldade, Lorriane (and Harold) Pischel, and Leo Ziegler.
