LITCHFIELD -- William Donald Weninger, 75, of Litchfield died Monday at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield.
The service will be at noon Thursday at the memorial chapel at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and for one hour prior to the service.
He was born on June 20, 1933, in St. Paul to Martin and Beaulah (Spangenberg) Weninger. He grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Monroe High School in 1951.
He married Helen Hawley on July 26, 1952, in St. Paul. He enlisted in the Navy and served in Korea. After being discharged, they lived in Inver Grove Heights and he worked at the Flynt Hills Refinery in Pine Bend. He later worked for Metropolitan Waste Control until his retirement in 1995. They moved to Litchfield and lived on Star Lake. He was a member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife; children: John Weninger of Apple Valley, Judy Weninger of Forest Lake, Tom Weninger of Eagan, Tim Weninger of Inver Grove Heights, Karen (and Mark) Reinsberg of Forest Lake and Kathleen (and Tom) Anderson of Princeton; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings: Robert (and Kathy) Weninger of Cottage Grove, John (and Glenna) Weninger of Cottage Grove, James (and Elizabeth) Weninger, Nancy (and Bill) Klingberg and Sue (and Gene) Muelken, all of Prior Lake.
