GOODHUE - William Joseph "Bill" Gadient Sr. of Goodhue, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, January 29, 2013 at the Seminary Home in Red Wing.

Bill was born in Red Wing on October 23, 1934 the son of David and Alfreda (Matter) Gadient. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Columbkill Catholic Church, where he continued his lifelong membership. He graduated in 1953 from Goodhue High School. He was married to Kathleen "Kay" LaPlante at St. Mary's Church in Chatfield on June 26, 1954. Shortly after, Bill established his own family farm near Goodhue, where he farmed his whole life. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Goodhue Lions Club, served on the Cemetery Board, and was an active member of the choir at St. Columbkill's Church. Bill loved kids; he enjoyed taking them fishing, hunting, and teaching them how to farm. He always had a camera in his hand to catch all those special memories. He liked to snowmobile, dance, watch sports, play cards, and enjoyed putting a smile on other’s faces. Bill will be remembered as a man with a big heart, strong faith and never afraid to work hard. He has taught us many things, and the most important thing he showed us was the love he had for his family and friends.
