WILLMAR -- William "Bill" A. Lehrke, Jr., 89, of Willmar, died Jan. 4 at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery in Kandiyohi with military honors provided by American Legion Post 167.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to Bethesda Heritage Center or a favorite charity.
He was born May 28, 1919, in Kandiyohi to William and Erna (Krebbs) Lehrke. He grew up in Kandiyohi and graduated from Willmar High School in 1937.
He married Deloris Lindblad on Oct. 15, 1940 and they lived in Willmar. From 1944 to 1945, he served in the Army in Europe during World War II. After the war, he received training in Minneapolis, returned to Willmar and owned and operated Wardrobe Tailors in downtown Willmar until he retired in 1981. He resided at Bethesda Heritage Center since March 2007.
He is survived by his children: Bruce of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jean (Stephen) Hersh of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother: Roger of Spicer.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2007 and one brother.
