WILLMAR — The United Way of West Central Minnesota is looking for community review volunteers to screen agencies.
Nonprofit agencies in the area seeking funds make formal application and are screened by volunteer financial reviewers for sound fiscal management. They then apply for program funding which is reviewed by the community review volunteers.
Volunteers are divided into panels of 4 to 6 people and will review three or four programs and visit their sites on March 21.
Prior to review day, volunteers will receive copies of the applications for the programs they will be reviewing. They will also receive a paper score sheet to use to rate the paper application and interview. The community reviewers begin at 8 a.m. and will be done immediately following the last site visit, which can vary but is generally wrapped up around 2:30 p.m. Volunteer panel chairs will present their group’s finding and should be done by approximately 3 to 4 p.m.
Anyone interested participating should contact the United Way at 320-235-1050 or email jan@liveunitedwcm.org by March 1.
Volunteers’ time and talent helps United Way of West Central Minnesota not only be accountable to our donors, but also makes a difference for thousands of people in need in our communities.
