Willmar after-prom party may end without parent support

WILLMAR -- The future of the Willmar Post Prom could be in jeopardy.

Past organizers are unable to continue with their work on the all-night party, and unless someone takes over, the event will not be held after the Willmar Senior High prom.

Past organizer Beth Piepenburg asked in a news release that parents of students pitch in to keep the party going.

Last year more than 200 students attended Post Prom. The event is open to all students attending prom and other juniors and seniors at Willmar Senior High. It provides an evening of music, games and prizes that keeps young people off the roads and away from unsupervised activities after their prom.

Anyone interested in working on Post Prom may send an email to postprom@hotmail.com.
