Willmar Area Crime Stoppers offers reward in fur theft case
WILLMAR -- The Willmar Area Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of thousands of deer hides last May.
According to a news release from Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Detective Brad Redmond, the reward is offered for information on more than 6,000 raw deer hides taken from Johnson Fur Company around May 14, 2007. The fur company is located about four miles south of Willmar along U.S. Highway 71.
The sheriff's office investigation into the case has led to numerous dead-ends, according to the release. It is alleged that the hides were stored in Olivia early in the investigation.
