Willmar brush site to open Saturday

WILLMAR -- The City of Willmar will open the brush disposal and compost site to the public beginning Saturday.

The brush site is located three miles west of Willmar on state Highway 40 to County Road 116 (75th Street Southwest), turn left and go 1 mile south, and then turn right. The site is one-half mile west of County Road 116.

Hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The brush site is open for City of Willmar residents only. Absolutely no lumber or garbage of any kind is accepted. No firewood may be removed.

The compost facility will accept leaves, grass clippings and garden clippings only. Residents should note that leaves, grass, and garden materials must be separated from brush and branches.

No boxes, plastic bags or plastic of any type may be left at the site.

Questions regarding brush disposal or compost will be taken at the Public Works Office at 235-4252.

Finished compost material is available for general public use.
