Willmar chamber hears pitch for Racino

Former State Senator Dick Day said he's a bit baffled that Minnesota legislators have repeatedly turned down proposals to allow a racino to operate in the state.

In a sales pitch today to members of the Willmar Chamber of Commerce, Day, president of an organization called Racino Now, said a racino operated by the state's lottery system would generate $125 million every year in new revenue.

That's money that could be used to help balance the state's budget, said Day.
