Willmar City Council to meet Monday
WILLMAR — The Willmar City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the chambers at the Municipal Utilities Building, 700 Litchfield Ave. S.W.
The council will consider a Community Development Committee recommendation to sell about 8 acres of land to Jennie-O Turkey Store for expansion of the company’s corporate headquarters.
The council will also consider the committee’s recommendation to approve a 10-year right-of-first-refusal agreement with Jennie-O to buy nearly 30 acres in the city’s industrial park for a possible future plant expansion.
In other business, the council will conduct three public hearings. The first will consider amending zoning ordinance fees; the second will consider amending rental inspection program fees; and the third will consider amending the zoning ordinance to allow a retail business at the corner of 19th Avenue Southeast and Fifth Street.
The council will receive comments from the public during the open forum.
The council will receive reports from the Finance Committee and the Public Works/Safety Committee.
Also, the council will consider a special event on-sale liquor license at the Civic Center, and consider amending the zoning ordinance relating to shipping and storage containers.
