Willmar City Council to meet Monday evening

WILLMAR — The Willmar City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the council chambers at the Willmar Municipal Utilities offices, 700 Litchfield Ave. S.W.
The council conducts an open forum during its agenda to hear concerns from members of the public.
The meetings are shown live on local cable channel 18.
The council is scheduled to consider a proposal to increase rates for waste treatment. If the council approves going forward, the city staff will prepare an ordinance outlining the rate increases.
Also on the agenda is a resolution to approve a fund balance policy for the city. Other agenda items include a resolution setting a hearing on public works projects for the Feb. 19 meeting; an addition to the Willmar City Code to increase the fees for false fire alarms; and a proposal to call a public hearing on proposed changes to the City Charter.
