Willmar extending Industrial Park street
WILLMAR — Construction is underway on a cul-de-sac extension of Fourth Avenue Southwest at the intersection of 28th Street Southwest in the Willmar Industrial Park.
The city is extending the street and constructing the cul-de-sac to allow for development of additional lots in the industrial park, said Bruce Peterson, interim city public works director. The work includes a storm water detention pond.
The cost is being paid with revenue generated by the local option sales tax. A portion of the tax has been used for construction of streets and utilities in the park. The park is the site of the former airport.
The Fourth Street extension work is one project among other street improvements underway in Willmar this year.
