The Cardinals (6-5, 9-6) will travel to Brainerd today for another CLC match. Brainerd won the first meeting 2-1 in Willmar.

Fergus Falls tallied twice in the first half against the Cardinals on goals by Dallas Cordahl and the second when Willmar inadvertently scored on its own goal.

Willmar cut the deficit to 2-1 in the second half on a goal by Abdinasir Abdi at 48:32 on an assist from Landon Peterson.

Fergus Falls regained the two-goal lead eight minutes later when Chase Kolle scored.

Andrew McAllister capped the scoring with a goal at 77:10.

"You can tell the match was pretty even because of the shots on goal," said Willmar coach Richard Courtney, referring to Willmar outshooting the Otters 10-9 on goal.

"Three of their four goals were the result of our defensive mistakes."
