Willmar man in critical condition after Kerkhoven crash

The driver of a van involved in a two-vehicle, head-on crash around 10 a.m. Thursday east of Kerkhoven suffered serious injuries. The name of the driver is not being released by the State Patrol. However, the Patrol says the person was westbound on U.S. Highway 12 following a snow plow, while a 2005 Freightliner M2 truck driven by David M. Evazich, 27, of Burnsville, was eastbound. KERKHOVEN -- Craig W. Hartman, 53, of Willmar, is in critical condition at St. Cloud Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle, head-on crash around 10 a.m. Thursday east of Kerkhoven.

According to the State Patrol, Hartman was driving a 2002 Chevy Express van westbound on U.S. Highway 12 following a snow plow, while a 2005 Freightliner M2 truck driven by David M. Evazich, 27, of Burnsville, was eastbound. Evazich reported to officers that as his vehicle came through blowing snow from the plow, Hartman's van was in his lane and the vehicles collided head-on.

Evazich was not injured in the crash.
