Willmar, Minn., council meets tonight
WILLMAR -- Two public hearings are scheduled when the Willmar City Council meets in regular session tonight, one related to financing part of the ongoing sewer improvement work in the city and the other for financing the annual street improvement program.
A public hearing is scheduled at 7:02 p.m. regarding the issuance of general obligation sewer revenue note to borrow money for the western interceptor project. The proposed ordinance states the amount borrowed would not exceed $1.89 million.
The western interceptor will serve the city's new industrial park and improve service to the northwestern part of the city.
A public hearing will be conducted at 7:03 p.m. for the issuance of general obligation bonds to finance $1.95 million for the 2013 street improvement program.
Among other items on the agenda for tonight are consideration of a 2014 budget calendar, action to consider brewer taproom license provisions and consideration of a request to extend municipal water service to Arnold's of Willmar.
The council meetings begin at 7 p.m. in the chambers at the Municipal Utilities Building, 700 Litchfield Ave. S.W. in downtown Willmar.
