Kandiyohi County is no longer in an excessive heat warning, but the National Weather Service continued a heat warning for Renville and Redwood counties, plus the counties to the south and east until 7 p.m. tonight.

A warm front is expected to move northward today and pull the hot, sultry air northward. Temperatures will climb into the 90s, with heat index values from 102 to 112, for the heat warning area.

Overnight into Saturday, northerly winds will return and will bring nearly normal temperatures, in the lower to mid-80s, with comfortable humidity levels.

The changing weather comes with a 40-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for the Willmar area. The high temperature is expected to be 88 degrees today, with a low tonight around 64. Saturday's high is 81 degrees, with north-northeast winds around 11 mph.
