Willmar, Minn., man arraigned on felony burglary charges
WILLMAR — Rodolfo Villagomez III, 25, of Willmar, was arraigned Thursday in Kandiyohi County District Court in Willmar on felony charges of burglary in the first degree, burglary in the first degree while possessing a dangerous weapon, burglary in the first degree while assaulting an individual, assault in the fifth degree, and misdemeanor theft.
The court set unconditional bail at $75,000 and allowed his release on personal recognizance on conditions that he has no contact with the alleged victims.
The complaint charges that he pushed opened a door on a Willmar residence at 10:44 p.m. Thursday. His ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend told him not to enter. The woman had answered the door and attempted to stop his entry.
Once inside, Villagomez allegedly struck the male numerous times in the face, pushed him on to the floor, and ripped some of his hair out. The defendant allegedly took a knife from a drawer as he was leaving the residence, stating: “I am not going back to jail.’’
A Willmar police officer responding to the incident spotted the suspect at a nearby residence, and took him into custody shortly after.
