WILLMAR — Juan Jasso Jr., 36, of Willmar, was sentenced Monday to 131 months, almost 11 years, in prison on one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a woman in October 2011 at the woman’s home in Willmar.

As part of his sentence handed down by District Judge Kathryn N. Smith in Kandiyohi County District Court, Jasso was ordered to serve a 10-year conditional release period after his prison confinement and was ordered to register as a predatory offender. He was given credit for 83 days already served in custody and was ordered to pay a $50 fine plus court fees.

Jasso was found guilty of the charge, and was acquitted of another count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, after a three-day jury trial in October.

According to the complaint, a Willmar police officer was called on Oct. 29, 2011, to Rice Memorial Hospital on a report of a sexual assault. An adult female reported that she had been drinking at a residence the previous evening with another woman and Jasso. She said she went home, passed out from the heavy drinking and woke up to find Jasso sexually assaulting her.
