Willmar, Minn., man not hurt in Menahga crash, teen pedestrian airlifted to North Memorial

MENAHGA -- A 13-year-old girl was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center after she was struck by a vehicle driven by a Willmar man Saturday afternoon.

According to the State Patrol, Samantha Wadsworth was at a mailbox around 1:20 p.m. along U.S. Highway 71 on the south edge of Menahga and quickly started across the road as a 2012 Dodge Journey driven by Brian Underland, 40, of Willmar approached in the southbound lane.

Underland swerved and braked while steering into the northbound lane. The teen made contact with the front fender and mirror on the passenger side of the vehicle. She was airlifted from the scene to North Memorial.

Also responding were the Menahga Police and Fire departments, the Wadena County Sheriff's Office and Tri-County Ambulance.
