As part of a plea agreement in Kandiyohi County District Court, Sandoval will receive a “bottom of the box” sentence, which is scheduled to be handed down on Jan. 14 by District Judge Donald M. Spilseth. The guideline sentence for the crime is 86 months in prison, with a guideline range of 74 to 103 months.

The charge was filed after the informant and agent met Sandoval at Harry’s Corner, south of Willmar, and completed the drug deal in a vehicle with Sandoval weighing the drugs and giving the cocaine to the agent in return for $600.

The drugs were field-tested and found to be cocaine. The task force has also filed an affidavit for restitution for $600.
