Willmar, Minn., Municipal Utilities Commission to meet Monday

WILLMAR -- The Willmar Municipal Utilities Commission will meet at 11:45 a.m. Monday in the utilities building auditorium, 700 Litchfield Ave. S.W.

The commission will consider a request to approve a $9,100 consulting contract with Burns and McDonnell Engineering to accomplish the compliance audit of chlorine processes at the southwest and northeast water treatment plants.

The audit is required every three years by federal regulation. Money for the audit was budgeted in the 2012 water department operating and maintenance budget, according to Bart murphy, director of water and district heating.

The commission has directed that its approval is required for consulting services exceeding $5,000.

In other business, the commission will review quotes for line department vehicles, approve a farm lease agreement, review the February investment report and receive the interim co-manager report.
